This is what I came home to today... (And this is after I sewed it back together.)

Molly likes carpet.

She likes wood, too.

I don't have many words for you today. It's been a long day.

Little People, Mean World

I am very sad about this... I really love that show. I hope all is well with them. :(

Monday schmonday. Today was a long day. I am sleepy but I will crank out a few more calories for an update.

Work was as usual. After work I came home to Molly NOT eating anything. And no accidents! I was proud. I ate some lunch and took a little nap before heading off to class.

For the third day in a row I have merged onto George Bush to a jammed packed road. I don't know what the deal was today. Maybe it was that guy who was running from police because he was trying to save his dying cat. Read more about it here.

Anyways, I got to class late and started working on my pieces. Here's them basking in the sun trying to dry.

Look at those skills!

Here's our (as Bob Ross would say) happy little kilns.

And here's the door to go back inside.

I was up at school until 10:07. I was frantically racing to finish everything because today was our last day to make stuff.

I came home and had some dinner, am updating and now am going to bed. :)

I scream at my food, too. But, only when I'm making it.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Today was another great Sunday. I wasn't teaching this week so I went to the 11:00 service. I have really been challenged lately with Barry's sermons. I love the digging that they are spurring within my heart and the longing for reform and reliance within my own life. If you are interested in getting your hands on these go to www.insideprovidence.com for more info. The biggest challenge I have found to myself is allowing time within my daily schedule to let God speak to my heart and really reveal parts of my life that can sometimes be hidden by what I deem more important and what will give me an excuse to not deal with issues. There must be a point in everyone's life and on a continual basis where we take the time to deal with our pasts and negligence of reality.

After church, we came home to part of our carpet ripped up. We agreed we probably wouldn't get our deposit back. We love Molly. I ran some quick errands an then we relaxed a bit before heading off to covenant communion at church. I was really excited because they were introducing new church members and bapizing new believers. I had four of my Sunday school kids who got baptized. I was so excited for them and proud!

After we got done with church we came home to our carpet still intack. I started making some cupcakes for Dave to take to his first day of work tomorrow. That's right! He got a new job! He is going to be doing marketing and sales for RandomShirts.com. I am excited for him so I made cupcakes to celebrate.

We (well, Dave) started steam cleaning our carpet tonight. Dave has an obsession with how much stuff those things pick up. Good one to have.

I am about to enjoy a nice cup of Chai tea before going to bed. For some reason caffeine helps me sleep. I guess that's the effect of drinking too much of it. I don't know. Goodnight! A new week starts tomorrow!

Saturday, July 28, 2007

Today was a wonderfully lazy day. I got up at 6:00 this morning to take Molly and Gizmo out and then crawled back into bed for a couple more hours of sleep. Then, we got up and had some cinnamon rolls.

I would show you a picture of them after they were cooked but we ate them too fast. :)

Then we were lazy for a couple of hours and eventually decided to go to PetsMart to get some anti-chew spray and a new toy for Molly. They were having an adoption day so we looked at cute doggies, too!

Then we came back home and were lazy some more. I took the dogs on a walk to the dog park but they were lazy too so they didn't want to play.

Then, my Meme calls me and tells me they are on their way in town to see my little cousin Gabriel and wanted to see us. So we got ready and went over to my Aunt and Uncle's house to visit and go out to eat at ROSAS! ROSAS! Do you know how long it has been since I have had ROSAS! It was really good.

After dinner we came back and visited some more. Dave and Gabriel played soccer.

And Dave played a game of Where's The Soccer Ball?.

Gabriel showed me his dinosaur face and claws.

And this cute little face...

And then we had to go so I got a quick picture with Meme and Pop.

I love them. Then we came home and are going to bed soon. Goodnight!

Friday, July 27, 2007

In case you haven't noticed, my life has been consumed with dogs lately. Sit, stay, down, quiet, and good girl have been the majority of my words. One day you will see pictures of no dogs but for now you're gonna get them. :)

So today was work as usual. I take breaks between entering ads to give my brain some rest and play a game of solitaire. I didn't win a single game today. And it's ad close which means alot of ads to enter. Stupid game.

After work I stopped by the store to grab some things for dinner and came home to Dave asleep in bed. He has had a long week. I took the dogs to the dog park but they were worn out by the time we got there so we didn't stay long. Must have been the run this morning. :) We'll see how long I can keep that up.

We came back home and Dave and I played with the dogs a bit. They are liking eachother a bit more.

They get within 3 feet of eachother without biting one another.

And they gang up on Mom.

Dave loves Molly.

After we played with the dogs I made some Chicken Marsala for dinner. It was good. Then, we decided to go for a little Jeep ride. Walmart is pretty from the roof. I think so.

The sky was pretty too...

I was a great night for a Jeep ride. I enjoyed it. Now, we are home and relaxing. Tomorrow morning I'm making a yummy breakfast! Goodnight!

July is almost over... can you believe that. Time is flying so I must be having fun!

Today was a great day. Molly woke me up at 5:45 this morning. She has decided it is her job to be our alarm clock and she has some adjustment issues. So, she jumped up on Dave's side of the bed and the agreement is that whoever's side she jumps up on has to take her out. But, I think I am going to start walking and eventually running in the mornings because Gizmo is getting fat.

So I get ready for work and I have a new stradegy to try to keep Molly from barking when I leave. I make a soda can shaker and put her in the laundry room and act like I am leaving. Then, if she barks, I shake the can at her and say quiet. I know, I know. How do you tell a dog to shut up when you're shaking a can making noise? It's working. I am also doing this.

I put peanut butter in her bone so while she is picking it out she forgets that I have left and therefore, doesn't bark. This is me waiting outside to make sure she doesn't bark.

If anyone has more ideas I would love them. Please.

So I get to work at the usual 8 AM and had a moment when I walked in thinking about the fact that I am the only one in my office that early. It's kinda peaceful. This is my morning view outside my office.

I do have one friend. This guy. He keeps my magazines from falling over. Sort of.

So I left work early today for an eye appointment. Supposively the distance I can see my hand from my face is decreasing with age. I should be blind by the age of 40. Not really. My eye doctor is strange and to make it worse, I forgot my glasses. And they make you take out your contacts. So, I am sitting there talking to this weird dorky woman not being able to see her face and expressions. She could be looking at me cross-eyed for all I knew. And the puff of air thingy. If you wear contacts, you know the puff of air thingy. I hate that machine. Good news, I have no signs of cataracts.

After the eye appointment I came home a spruced up the house a bit. Dad and Mary came in town to see our new place and have dinner so I was excited! Here we are after dinner.

We had lots of fun. It's always nice to see family. Well, I am off to bed. I am waking up early tomorrow. I guarantee you.

It's a Dog Eat My Favorite Pair of Shoes World

No one noticed I didn't post yesterday. Maybe no one is reading my blog. Sad.

Yesterday was the great meet and greet day for Gizmo and Molly. Let's just say Molly is feeling MUCH better and Gizmo is a bit teed off at us. It didn't go well. And, Molly chewed up my favorite pair of shoes. Ate the HEEL!! I found them online. No worries.

I need this guy. He would be able to help me. And he's Australian mate!

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

Hello again!

Today was work, again. I didn't have alot on my plate today. It's always like that a few weeks after ad close. In about a week it will get crazy again.

After work I came home and took Molly on a little walk. She is excited about meeting Gizmo tomorrow. She told me. After we got back I rested a bit, watched some TLC, and had a little snack. I thought I would play with my food a bit before eating it.

Molly played with her bone.

Then got bored with it.

Now I am off to clean house. Dave has a meeting tonight so it's a good time to do it. Good evening!

Monday, July 23, 2007

So today (really yesterday) wasn't exactly a day to remember but I'll tell ya about it anyways. I worked my usual 8-4. Molly stayed home for the first day since we had her and did great. No chewed through doors or accidents. After work I came home and chomped on some lasagna leftovers before heading off to school.

Ceramics was good today. I am finally getting the wheel thing down. And my arms hurt. I made 6 pots... well muggish pots but a small plant will fit! I can't wait to see them done. Only 2 more weeks of my class and then I'm done until the fall semester. To be honest, I will miss my ceramics class.

After class I realized I hadn't taken any pictures all day so I snapped these on my way out. This is me leaving quad C. Enjoy.

Sunday, July 22, 2007

It's Sunday! I love Sundays.

THis morning was church as usual at 9 AM and teaching at 11. Barry talked about finding rest in our lives and time away from chaos to allow God to speak to us. To get away from life long enough to understand and grasp the ultimate desires for our lives. I needed that. Within a life of someone who thinks she is superwoman at times only to realize that sometimes it's physically impossible to do everything, this really hits home. We use television, work, school, and life to conceal the deepest of our hurts and desires. To really examine ourselves takes silence. A conversation between you and the One who made you. Just something to think about this week. I hope I can apply it to my own life.

The kids were great today as always. I have a deaf boy in my class and I don't know hardly any signing. But, somehow he is understanding the basics of Christian faith. That is beautiful to me. That he can draw a picture of himself and Jesus and show me that he knows the connection. Beautiful.

After church we went and ate at Fuddrucker's with some people from church. I hadn't met alot of them so I am really glad we went. It's always nice to know another face in this world.

We came home afterwards and relaxed a bit. I decided to re-vamp our porch so I headed out to find some re-vamping supplies. My plants needed to be replanted anyways. Dave was exhausted so he fell asleep on the couch.

When I got back I repotted all my plants and removed all the spiders. I really hate bugs. Especially spiders and mosquitos.

This is what happens when I come in contact with a mosquito. Notice the left foot appears a bit kankle-ish.

This was the end result of my work. I was proud. I got some pretty flowers at the nursery as well. I have a mini rose garden!

After my hard work I poured me some peach juice and admired it. The work. Not the peach juice.

I then went inside and cleaned up and started making this. Mac and cheese lasagna. It is awesome. Let me know if you want the recipe!

After dinner, Dave and I played a few games of Life. It was awesome as well. The Dunlaps only do awesome things.

Update: Molly is doing much better. Her cough should be gone tomorrow and we are hoping to have Gizmo back by Tuesday night. Amy, I need to call you. You're awesome too by the way!

Well, I am off to bed. Everyone, enjoy your week. But, relax. Take time to be alone.

Saturday, July 21, 2007

Why didn't anyone tell me I had my dates all wrong? They are fixed now.

So, last night we watched a movie that I am too embarrassed to say we even rented. Yeah, why do people ruin good movies with stupid stuff.

Anyways, today I woke up around 8:30 and ate my usual bowl of cereal. In case you didn't know, I must eat breakfast everyday in order to function correctly and cereal just hits the spot. Especially the sweet milk I get to slurp down at the end. That's my favorite part. So, I got cleaned up and went and grabed some Starbucks for Amy and I before heading over to their house to see this guy.

I have missed him soooooo much. I had to take him to the vet to get a shot so he won't get sick once he meets Molly. He loved spending time with Mom.

We played with the kitties while we waited and he met a new friend named Tuffy. He wasn't so Tuff.

I dropped him back off at the Bishop's, visited a bit and headed home to do some chores. I went up to school to work on some ceramics and to glaze some pieces. It is much harder than you think to make a pot on a wheel. It reminds me of Ghost.
I went home after a few hours and took a little nap. Then Dave and I did one of our favorite things again.

We took Molly to a park to get some fresh air in her lungs. She is recovering still and we hope she will be better within the next few days. Her and Dave have really become good buddies.

After a pretty sunset, we came back home and are relaxing for the rest of the night. We are getting up early for church tomorrow so it's an early nighter. Goodnight!

Friday, July 20, 2007

One week! Yeah!

I apologive for the non-existence of yesterday's post. You see, somehow I got a bowling ball stuck in my head and it took me awhile to get it out. After that, my day was pretty much shot.

So today, work was busier than usual. Molly once again was spoiled and came with me. Good news! She is eating regularly... very good news.. She will no longer be an ani-Labrador. Her cough is also better. After work, I cam home and got a few things done around the house and waited for Dave to get home.

One thing I have realized in the past few days is a hint of motherhood. I have been wiping a snotty nose and cleaning up vomit and haven't really complained about it. It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it. Where's Mike Rowe? He should be a mom for a day. Now that's a show.

So, once Dave came home he made us some yummy ribeyes and I had some baked potatoes ready. Dinner was mmmm mmmm good!

I learned a joke today...

-Knock Knock
-Who's there?
-Little Old Lady
-Little Old Lady who?
-I didn't know you could yoddle!?!

You're laughing. I know it.

So, after the steaks we went on a little jeep ride and rented a movie which we are about to watch...

Hope everyone has wonderful plans for the weekend! I leave you with Molly. Recovering and cute as a button.

P.S. I miss my Gizmo.

...today I have a migraine.

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

So after some deliberation, I must make a correction.

Introducing the new member of the Dunlap family... MOLLY Dunlap. I forgot that I wanted to name my daughter Madison AKA Maddie and that just wasn't going to work for future's sake.

So while were on the subject. Molly is from Carrollton Animal Control. She was brought in on July 6. I saw her on Craigslist yesterday and a bit jokingly sent Dave the link. She was going to be euthanized at 6 pm. Dave calls me and informs me that he called them and that I needed to go check her out. So, Dave knew at this point we were getting a new dog. Who can say no to that cute face?

So, I go and look at her amongst a roomful of adorable puppies and kittens PAUSE: If you are wanting a pet, please check shelters first. Ok, so I look at her and after talking to the guy there and hanging out with her we decided to take her. Well, here's where my day gets a bit interesting. Poor little Molly has kennel cough and she needs to be spayed. Well, we can't take her home until she gets spayed and they won't spay her with kennel cough. So, long story short, I spent yesterday afternoon in a vet office and got handed a bagfull of medicine. Once she is better she will get spayed and animal control will hunt me down or something if she doesn't. She also has an intestinal parasite and hookworm. Poor thing. But, today she is doing much much better. And, she could be dead right now. Gizmo, while all this is going on is at Beau and Amy's hanging with Sadie. I miss him and can't wait for him to meet his new friend once she gets better!

So, Molly went to work with me today and rested up at my feet. I came home and cleaned house a bit before class. Since, I cut my finger I can't throw anything on the wheel so I am stuck hand building things. Maybe it will be healed this weekend and I can go up there and catch up.

After class I got a sudden unsual urge for night photography. Now, I am not a huge fan of night photos so I took the moment and ran with it. Here's what I got.

And this is 30 seconds of my drive home and about how I felt.

And this is goodnight!

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

So I'm in the car on my way to work this morning and I notice that 103.7 is playing Christmas music. I thought that's weird and almost dismissed it until they said... "so, come by Sleep Experts in Lewisville and pick up your free cash. At 121 and 35 behind Vista Ridge Mall." And where was I? Behind Vista Ridge Mall! So I got myself in line with everyone else who were going to be late for work for a chance to pick an envelope and win anywhere between $1 and $1000. Merry Christmas in July!

Oh, and here's the best part. Supposively Santa was there from the North Pole! They said he told Mrs. Clause he was going on a guys weekend trip to Texas. So I figured who gets to see Santa twice a year? No many. He was summertimed up with his Hawaiian shirt and Crocs. He gave me his business card, too.

So, I drew my envelope and here's what I got.

I figured it was worth it.

So I went to work and realized that it is hard to type without a finger. This is where cutting chicken at 10:30 at night after a long day leads you.

Yeah, gross huh?

So Dave told me to stay off Craigslist. Maybe next time I should listen better. Introducing Maddie Dunlap.

Yep.

Monday, July 16, 2007

Mondays are always weird days. It seems like they shouldn't really exist.

I woke up earlier than usual today to iron Dave some pants.

I worked from 8-4 and honestly don't really have anything fantastic to tell you about that. After work, I stopped by the house to get something to eat and I took some time to utilize the great lighting our apartment gets in the afternoon. I really love it. To bad I am not usually home during the afternoons.

Also, for those of you who haven't met our dog. He has a really big head and to make matters even worse the groomer left his tail about 4 inches long and no hair on the rest of his body. He looks weird now.

After I ate I changed into some comfy clothes. I wore my red shoes today. I think they are sassy and they are fun to walk in, too.

I snapped a quick photo of my about to die flowers and left for school.

I was driving down the road and it became aware to me the my car is a liar. It said it was 98 degrees outside. Now I'm a West Texas girl and I know 98 degrees and it wasn't that hot outside. Lying Passat.

It was hot enough for someone to eat this though.

Ceramics was fun tonight. We started working on the wheel which is alot harder than it looks and messy. After class I came home to Dave and Paul changing Paul's brakes. I cooked some dinner, cut the end of my finger almost off and now here I am. Trying to type without a finger and exhausted. Hope all is well this week for everyone! Goodnight!

Oh Puleezzzz People!

Sunday, July 15, 2007

Sundays are always good days. I woke up this morning and went to church. Dave always goes early for band practice. I installed my giant phone, went to the 9 o'clock service and taught the kids for the 11 o'clock. Today Barry preached about SIMPLICITY and what that looks like in the life of a Christian. Although I he talked alot about possessions and contentment, what really pulled my heart strings today was the thought of being completely content and faithful no matter your circumstances. To believe I have a God that is "bigger than the air I breathe, and bigger than this world I'll leave". (To qoute the song.) To find peace in the unknown and uncertainity and to understand in the midst of misunderstanding. Sometimes, I think we need to be directly told that as Christians. Our faith is only as big as our reliance on it.

My Sunday school class was great today as well. I teach 1st-5th graders and I am amazed at the innocence and at the same time knowledge that these kids have. They have a purity to their understanding that is to be admired.

After church, we went and ate with Beau and Amy before heading to guitar center to help Beau find a guitar. While the guys negotiated good deals, Amy and I made a trip to the mall.

I also introduced Amy to the goodness of a Passion Tea from Starbucks (sweetened I might add, gotta get it sweetened).

Oh, by the way. For all the musicians out there, Proven Ground is looking for a lead singer and drummer according to the Guitar Center bulletin board (located between the women's and men's bathrooms). They are already sending CD's to labels, too! Without a lead singer.... and... a drummer.... I wonder how that works. Anyways, if you like Metallica and Slayer you might check them out. I thought about calling about the lead singer position but I don't think I have the look.

So, anyways, after our trip to the mall, we came back to some waiting. So we waited in the entryway and caught up on our music news with the available papers.

And I have noticed the clouds haven't been moving alot lately. It's kinda surreal when you look at them. And they look pretty, too.

OH! And I almost forgot. I met V-Beck today... AKA Posh Spice. Go figure. You didn't know I had connections did ya?

I also met an Armadillo. We'll call him Fred. He loves classic guitars.

So after a few hours of hangage at Guitar Center Beau finally found his new guitar and couldn't be happier. We were glad we got to share the moment with him.

We went to drop the guitar off at their house and picked up Sadie for the ride back to our place.

After Beau and Amy dropped us off we relaxed a bit and headed off to Small Group where we had another wonderful evening with great friends! Britt cooked a great meal and made some yummy coffee and we got to catch up on life. Now, I am tired indeed. Satisfied with a wonderful day.

I know, I said one photo posted a day. I am an over-achiever. What can I say?

Saturday, July 14, 2007

Ok. So I am late by 45 minutes. But, I have a good reason. We just got back from an awesome show! I got a picture on my camera phone (they didn't allow cameras in, losers) and I got a pick played with by Kevin Griffin himself!

So today we slept in and when I woke up I was craving me some pancakes. So I made some. They were good.

I spent the day doing laundry and cleaning. Typical Saturday shindigs. Beau and Amy came by to drop Dave's Jeep off. They had borrowed it . Amy brought some yummy snow cones!

After they left we relaxed and then got ready for this.

One thing to remember when you are going to a concert...
Wear comfy shoes. Heels are cute. Pain is not.

And we're off!

And now we are back. I am tired. Goodnight.

Friday, July 13, 2007

Ohhhhhh scary... it's Friday the 13th! No, that is not why I choose today as launch day. And, I don't watch scary movies.

I thought that I would post ALL 10 photos today, being the launch and all. Although today was just another typical day, I understand how taking time to photograph life can cultivate a whole new look on the small details. It's a wonderful experience.

I began my day with a good bowl of cereal and it was then that I noticed that my dog does not leave my side. I get this all the time. I don't think he's begging. I think he needs to go outside.

I worked from 8-4 today. Called some clients, made some ad indexes, and drank my usual two cups of coffee and two bottles of water. This is my office Cafe. Mr. Coffee, Emeril's Breakfast Blend, and lots of magazines to read. Well, if you really like horses.

After work I stopped by Hobby Lobby and picked up a few supplies. They already have Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations out! (BTW there's a 40% off coupon online) I came home and started working on this.

It's a giant phone. Our Sunday school lessons over the next few weeks is over The Call of God. I thought the kids would like this. And, I think it's funny to think of God calling me. So, I laugh when I look at this and consider it a job well done.

While I was amusing myself, Dave was doing one of his favorite things.

I thought I would bug him and take a few pics.

I don't know what this does but it looked neat!

And we have a black light in our garage. I don't know why.

And this stuff, too.

And this is the old dealership sticker from the Jeep.

I was getting bit by mosquitos and in case you didn't know, they are now spraying for West Nile in Dallas so went inside.
And at last, I end my day the same way I started it. With someone always looking up to me. :)

Happy shooting!

Welcome to Operation365!

Hello friends and welcome to Operation365!

Who am I?

I am Sarah, a senior photo student and aspiring photographer for life. I am married to an amazing man named Dave. I love the simple things in life. I love Jesus and I love photography.

What is Operation365?

"A lot of photographers are famous for the pictures they exhibited; Garry Winogrand is famous for pictures he never even developed. When Winogrand died in 1984, he left more than 2500 rolls of film exposed but undeveloped, 6500 rolls developed but not proofed, and 3000 rolls proofed but not examined. That's a total of a third of a million unedited exposures. " (www.photo.net)

So what do I get out of this? Passion. Garry Winogrand was an amazing photographer.

"When we consider the heedless daring of his successes and his failures we become impatient with tidy answers to easy questions, and with the neat competence of much of what now passes for ambitious photography. Winogrand has given us a body of work that provides a new clue to what photography might become, a body of work that remains dense, troubling, unfinished, and profoundly challenging. The significance of that work will be thought by some to reside in matters of style or technique or philosophical posture. There is no original harm in this misunderstanding, and useful work may come of it, but it will have little to do with the work of Garry Winogrand, whose ambition was not to make good pictures, but through photography to know life." - John Szarkowski

So, Operation365 is my meager attempt to document and "know life" through photography. Ten photos a day (weak, I know but, I have to start somewhere), one photo posted to this blog a day and my ramblings of life.

Why Operation365?

Consistency. If I am to call myself a photographer, I must truly be one. And, to become a better photographer, one must take more photographs. So, I consider this my "daily exercise routine" as one.

Also, I am horrible at blogging. This is something where I have good intentions with bad follow through. No more waiting months for me to update. If I skip a day. Let me have it. Seriously.

365?

A full year. Yes... a full year.

Want to participate?

Feel free. Send me a link to your blog, too!

Enjoy! -Sarah
